This last october we had the priviledge to go to Ciudad de Mexico for FIELD-LOG’s BOOKLAUNCH event. It was a complete honor for me, not only to be be there present, show our work, talk with everyone who came to the event, being able to print the book in Nocaut -one of our favorite printing houses based there in Ciudad de Mexico as well.
Being part of the FIELD-LOG team was a dream experience. Working on a book, being involved as the proyects Creative Director and also having the opportunitty of protraiying my perspective all around the proyect, made me feel listened and reasurred me the power a true collaboration can have. Thanks for ever an always to Annick, who reached out and made me part of this, it was a dream come true, working with the tools I dreamed of working with.
La Americana is a small but lovely bookstore located in Roma Norte. Its both beautiful and cozy, for the event we hosted both an installation for the public present, and a space of open word.
We open the space with a short sequence of rythmic movements, and opened the conversation with the public with a interactive speech narrated by both us —the FIELD-LOG team—and the present public, method proposed by Julio Correa and Mindy Sue at their “Reading Lecture” at Yale School of Arts.
For a single night we exhibited the book, The Darkslide Belt, the installation, and the speech for unifying all in one piece together.
For ever grateful for everybody present, everyone who reached out, special thanks to Amalia Triana for her support and disposition during the event, and of course a special mention to Annick Saralegui, for being my collaborator since the beggining of the proyect, for bringing me on the journey, and for creating this collaborative space for FIELD-LOG’s creation. It was a complete honor.
